Batty's Cold Press Soap Packaging
About Batty's Cold Press Soap Packaging
My cold press packaging is created from scrap "repurposed" fabric, trim, lace, bias tape, and other odds and ends. It also includes long lost buttons that often don't have a match and were put away in a drawer thinking that they might be of some need again one day. No two soap packages are ever the same since the materials are gathered from people's scrap piles.
The packaging for my CP soap was inspired by several different people and ideals.
THE PEOPLE: This packaging was inspired by my grandmother and mom - grandma who started the handmade bag tradition, and my mom who continues it. Read about this tradition here. It was also inspired by my friend Weezi. She has a passion for vintage and a talent with all things fabric! If it wasn't for her, this packaging never would have been created!
THE IDEALS: When I set out to find the perfect packaging for these very special soaps, I had a few things in mind - they needed to be beautiful, they needed to protect their soapy treasure, they needed to be in compliance with labeling requirements, and they needed to be environmentally and socially responsible. Sounds like high standards for something that is just wrapping up the actual product but that's how we do things around here!

Ideas for Reusing the Fabric & Other Materials
If you're not crafty or don't have time to reuse the materials from the packaging, feel free to pass them along to someone who can or send them back to us (contact us for the mailing address)!
Don't be shy! Send us photos of how you reused the materials!
The links below go to other sites that are no way associated with Batty's Bath. Also, you may need fabric from several soap bars or to add some of your own scraps to complete some of these projects. Have fun!
